Nicolette sprawls across her couch in the empty house, the blue glow of her phone illuminating her face in the dimming evening light. Her thumb slides mindlessly across social media feeds as she sighs, wishing for anything to break the monotony of another Friday night alone. The irony of her wish hits her when, hours later, rough nylon rope bites into the tender skin where her elbows meet behind her back, pushing her shoulder blades together painfully. The same coarse rope encircles her slender wrists, cutting off circulation until her fingers tingle. Her tan pantyhose offer little protection where rope cinches above and below her knees, and at her ankles, where the bindings are cruelly tight. Rope pulls her bound ankles up toward her hands, arching her back into an agonizing curve. The red ball gag stretches her jaw to its limit, collecting saliva that has nowhere to go but down her chin onto the carpeted floor where she lies abandoned. This twisted version of excitement leaves her writhing helplessly, the clock on the wall marking each minute of her futile struggle.
